Questions before you commission
How much does a film cost?
Cost depends on length, production method, planning scope and difficulty. Here are typical ranges for work we are often asked about.
Animation
- Webtoon animation PVAbout 1 min, KRW 5–10M per film
- Short-form webtoon animationAbout 1 min, KRW 0.5–1M per episode (multi-episode packages)
- Cutout animationKRW 5–15M per minute
- Hand-drawn animationKRW 20–40M per minute
AI hybrid · Full AI
- AI short film (Full AI / Hybrid)KRW 5–20M per 30 seconds
- TV ad scenes, AI VFX compositingFrom KRW 1M per shot, more for complex compositing
- Brand film, seasonal campaignKRW 20–50M for 60–90 seconds, around KRW 100M for a full package
Live action
Shot with partner directors and quoted by scale.
The final price comes as a quote after we review the plan and its difficulty.
How long does production usually take?
It varies by project scope. Allowing time for review and feedback at each stage, we recommend getting in touch at least 3–4 weeks ahead. Rush production is also available with a rush fee.
When will I get a quote?
We reply within 2–3 business days of your inquiry. If additional reference material is needed to calculate the quote, we will respond within 2–3 business days of receiving it.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Please share the purpose of the video, target channels, expected length, preferred schedule, reference videos and your budget range. Any items not yet decided can be left blank and worked out together during consultation.
2D animation, 3D, live action or AI: which is right for us?
Once we hear your purpose, budget and schedule, we propose the most effective pipeline at the planning stage. Rather than sticking to a single technique, we offer options ranging from traditional production to AI hybrid and Full AI production.
Does AI make it cheaper or faster?
It depends on the project. Visualizing concept art and storyboards, or replacing costly location shoots and heavy VFX compositing, can cut time and budget substantially—and Full AI production is also available for tight budgets and schedules. However, detailed character acting or strict original art styles often work better with traditional animation, so we review the full plan first and build a pipeline that delivers real value for your budget.
How many revisions are included?
One round of revisions per stage (planning, storyboard, production) is included at no extra cost. Additional revisions within the same stage, or changes to a previous stage that has already been approved, incur extra rework charges.
Can AI-made video be used commercially?
Yes. We only use AI tools and models cleared for commercial use, and Airship Studio directly verifies licensing terms before delivery.
Is there a minimum budget?
Most standalone projects start at KRW 5M or more per contract. Projects under KRW 10M are reviewed against our current studio schedule. Feel free to inquire with your target budget.
Is pricing different for a series or multiple films?
Yes. For multi-episode packages or annual contracts where character assets and settings are reused, per-episode rates can be adjusted.
How is AI hybrid video different from conventional production?
Conventional production relies solely on shooting, hand-drawn animation, 3D and VFX, causing costs and schedules to rise steeply as scenes grow complex. AI hybrid keeps director-led planning, character design and final compositing at the core, while integrating AI into concept-art storyboards, complex backgrounds, live-action plates and VFX. This expands what can be achieved within your budget and schedule, and we can also run end-to-end Full AI production when needed.
Which AI tools do you use?
We combine commercial and custom local workflows suited to each project, including ComfyUI, Seedance, Higgsfield, Suno, Claude and Codex.
Can you keep our existing character or webtoon art style?
Yes. We analyze the original art style and motion range first to recommend the most faithful approach—whether layering original artwork for cut-out/hand-drawn animation, or keeping characters hand-drawn while applying AI to backgrounds and effects.
When do I review the work during production?
We share work for your feedback at each key milestone: planning, storyboard and animatic reel, work-in-progress cut, and final master. Review dates are set together with the schedule at kickoff.
How do meetings work? Can you work with clients outside Seoul or abroad?
Meetings are usually held online, with in-person meetings available in Seoul and Gyeonggi. We work with clients across Korea and overseas, and can communicate in English and Japanese.
Who owns the finished film and source files?
Please let us know the deliverables, media channels and usage period you need during consultation. Source file handoff and usage rights are defined clearly in the contract.
How do you keep unreleased work confidential?
For unreleased products or IPs, we agree on confidentiality terms before kickoff. Security-sensitive projects can also be produced using a 100% traditional non-AI pipeline.
How are deposits and final payments split?
Projects within two months are split 40:60 (deposit and balance), while longer projects are split 40:30:30 (deposit, interim and balance). Quarterly or annual contracts follow a schedule agreed in advance.
Can you work with public institutions (procurement, quotes, business documents)?
Yes. We are registered on KONEPS (Nara Marketplace) and hold direct production confirmation for video production. We prepare all required administrative documents promptly.
Can you handle voice actors, music and sound effects?
Yes. We handle everything from professional voice casting and recording to original music, sound effects and final mixing in one pipeline.
Can you make versions with subtitles or dubbing in other languages?
Yes. Let us know the target languages and whether you need subtitles or voice dubbing, and we will include them in the production plan and quote.
Can you create live-action scenes with AI, without a shoot?
Yes. We can produce photorealistic scenes through Full AI generation or AI compositing without a physical shoot. When exact product packaging or specific human acting is required, we recommend combining live shooting or 3D assets at the planning stage.
Can you revise an existing film or make a follow-up?
Yes. Share the existing video and let us know whether source project files are available, and we will review them to propose a revision or follow-up production plan and quote.
Can I get versions for each channel, like vertical video for YouTube or Instagram?
Yes. Tell us your target channels up front, and we will design the composition and aspect ratios (16:9, 9:16, 1:1) from the storyboard stage.
My schedule is very tight. Can you still do it?
We check our current studio schedule and workload first to confirm feasibility. When possible, we send a quote that includes a rush fee and arrange rush staffing or an AI-accelerated pipeline to meet your deadline.
Who owns the rights to a newly created character?
Original copyright for newly designed characters initially rests with the studio, and full IP ownership or secondary usage rights can be transferred through a copyright assignment or license agreement set out clearly in the contract.
Do you take on work that needs approval from the original creator or IP owner?
Yes. For IP projects requiring creator or licensor approval, we build dedicated review checkpoints into the schedule from the planning and storyboard stages.
Can we continue with more episodes or another season?
Yes. Because we organize character sheets, rigs and style guides systematically during the first production, subsequent episodes or seasons can continue seamlessly.
Can I visit the studio for a meeting?
Yes. Our studio is located at 805, 20, Neureul 2-ro, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do (CH Libero Building, Hopyeong-dong). Please schedule a time with us in advance.
Can we agree not to show the work in your portfolio?
As a rule, completed works are featured in our studio portfolio, and we do not take on permanently non-disclosed projects. Embargo dates before official launch can be coordinated in advance.
Who have you worked with?
We have produced over 80 projects across brand and ad films, public campaigns, character series, webtoon and game PVs, and music videos with clients including Samsung, SK, Hyundai E&C, KB Kookmin Card, Kakao, Naver Webtoon, Binggrae, IOPE, DB Insurance and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
Can we book training or talks?
Yes. We take on inquiries for corporate and institutional workshops as well as university lectures on animation and AI video production. Director Minsuk Kang teaches After Effects and AI-assisted animation post-production at Chungkang College of Cultural Industries, and video compositing, VFX and sound design at Shingu College. Select “Education & talks” in the inquiry form and share your audience, group size and topic.
What should I check before outsourcing a video?
Checking five essentials before kickoff keeps production smooth: the video’s purpose and target channels, available budget range, review and revision scope per stage, final deliverables and usage rights, and commercial licensing clearance for any AI-generated assets.
Anything not covered here? Add it to your inquiry.
What kind of film do you need?
Share your goal, target schedule, budget range and a few reference videos, and we’ll reply within 2–3 business days. Anything still undecided, we can shape together.
